Piano Duet Repertoire is a trusted guide to nearly 3,200 works specifically written for four-hand performance—by 1,700 composers writing between 1760 and 1980. Entries are arranged alphabetically by composer—from Abeille to Zutphen, with many more-familiar names in between.
One appendix lists anthologies and collections of four-hand music, with their contents; a second is an index to the piano duets with voice(s) or other instrument(s) described in the main listing. Piano teachers will appreciate the annotations, the grade-level indications, and the wealth of instructional guidance included, as well as the list of music publishers and their addresses, which has been updated for this reprint edition.
Cameron McGraw (1919–1995) was a composer and co-director of the Jenkintown Music School. His articles appeared in Piano Quarterly and Clavier, and he edited the anthology Four Centuries of Keyboard Music.
